How to change a manual wing mirror on a ford focus

If you have heated mirrors, or the type with turn signals built in, unplug the wires connected to the wing mirror. 1a) Pry the broken wing mirror off (another view) - We removed the decorative cover from the back side of the mirror (it also pops right off easily) to point out how the clips on the mirror snap onto the plate it pivots on.  · Can any give me advise on the pre face-lift wing mirror wiring and post face-lift. I'm installing post face-lift wing mirrors to my focus mk2 pre face-lift. Pre face-lift has 5 wires Post face-lift has 6 wires. From what I've figured out so far, blue green and red wires on both wing mirrors go to the motor to adjust mirrors. Hi there mate, you cant modifiy or programme the gem to allow remote folding of the kuga mirrors, On these vehicles it is done by a seperate module (the power folding mirror module) I have read the Ford technical kuga manual and there is no mention of remote controlled folding mirrors, only manual operation of the switch is mentioned, have also spoke to ford about .

SOURCE: Ford Fusion Wing Mirror Replacement. I checked Ford Focus mirror replacement and it seems to be the same. This is for the manual, unheated mirror. Remove the mirror cover inside the door - slide a screwdriver behind the cover and pry loose carefully. Remove the single 10mm bolt and the mirror comes free. NB. A friend lend me the Hayes manual. Its quite simple. On the inside of the car door you need to take off the "panel" that has the mirror controls on it (little knob in my case for electric mirrors). It comes of relative easy use a screw driver and go in from the "back corner" of the panel and pry it open. Once that is off, there is just one bolt. My wife broke one mirror so I learned how - sort of. First, you will have to carefully remove the painted cover. You may have to carefully pull the mirror glass away from the mirror assembly. Make sure you turn the glass inward first so you can see. Anyway, you should now be able to see the turn signal and puddle bulbs. Have at it.

as far as i an remember you put the mirror glass facing the ground to get access to the top centre of the inside housing, then use a flat head screwdriver to lift the clip and pop off the panel the you can slide out the indicator unit. hardest job i have done on the focus to date is changing these wing mirror bulbs. 1) Carefully prise out the round mirror control panel from its housing and disconnect the wiring. 2) Pull off the housing itself (note that the clip nearest the front of the car pulls out towards the seat and the two at the back pull off towards the rear of the car). Depending on whether you have a power mirror button, or a control knob, just give the button a quick press, or pull the knob backwards to fold the mirrors in. You'll hear a click to let you know they are resynchronising. If you don't hear it, use the button to fold the mirrors out and in again until you do. Your mirrors should now function normally.
